12/06 – Been down to the river today and noticed our usual pair of swans are back. Not sure where they have been these past several weeks, however it was lovely to see them.
======
14/06 – there have been some vandalism of the hut next to bridge number 2 which has been reported but needs to be cleaned
======
18/05 – Calling all Beeston residents – there is a clean up party being assembled for Saturday in order to pick up all te rubbish in our area. This is not a good thing as most is caused by other people
======
20/06 – I just wanted to note how bad the traffic is on the A1 going over the bridge. I have been fishing here for around 20 years and there has been a significant increase in the amount of cars using this stretch of road. I am sure the solution rates in the area are increasing due to the car emissions. Does anyone else have a similar concern ?

23/06 - The land behind the church is seeking to build a new development on it with about 10 houses. This would be extremely detrimental to the area and bring with it the degradation of the site (which has been used for farming for 40+ years) in terms of wildlife and increased traffic. I would suggest we act as a group and object to the council about this development. Anyone else want to get involved, please post on this site.

29/06 - Lots of beer cans once again at bridge 2. As someone who lives in the flats overlooking the bridge, I find this disgusting and shows no respect for the area. Can the people doing this please use the bins provided rather than the floor. I have asked the council to empty the bins and put up another sign.

11/07 – I went out early this morning to walk the dogs and the sun was rising over the bridge which set a lovely scene and brought the trees and grass to life and showed the area in its true light with all the animals busily going about their business. What a fantastic place to be in the morning.

13/07 - This is a lovely river running through Beeston. Along the banks there is such an amazing wildlife that thrives. Hoping the proposed development of new houses does not go ahead as this will drive them away and the loss will be greatly missed. We need to keep the open wild green land as it an amazing habitat.

15/07 - Looking for some help to participate in cleaning up the Beeston part of the river on 21st of September. This will be quite hard work and likely you will get wet !!!. If you can spare some time, please send a message via the contact form on this website. Thank you. 🙂
